You may have noticed that we use Swarovski crystal beads for most of our jewelry designs and you may be wondering why we chose Czech or Preciosa fire-polished beads for our Spiral Bracelet design.
Preciosa and Czech fire-polished beads are machine faceted, then polished by glazing inside a red-hot oven. It is the heat polishing process that gives them their soft glow, glistening colors and a smooth,natural and earthy feel versus the machine polished Swarovski/Austrian crystal. Slight imperfections are to be expected and add to the allure of these much sought after beads.
Preciosa/Czech have been producing these heat polished facet cut beads to meet the highest quality and consistency standards for over 50 years. Preciosa/Czech fire-polished beads have an unmistakable appearance in that their centre is a reflection of the fire that helped create them. The result is warm flashes of refracted fire, boiling up from the interior rather than the intense surface reflections of a lap-polished bead.
